ICT R& D Fund Research to Commercialization Program
The Objective
The training program titled ‘Taking the Next Steps
Commercialization and Going International’ was conducted in May 2011 in collaboration between CAN and National ICT R &D Fund. The training was conducted to familiarize ICT R &D funded project teams with the process of business plan development and commercialization of products. The training aimed to impart business development techniques so that the teams could merge it with technical competence and fine tune their projects into commercially viable ones.
The Event
- The ICT R &D funded project teams were trained by CAN on business development. The 3 day business development workshop from May 4 to May 6 2011, briefed participants on the significance of preparing a business plan and introduced them to concepts of market segmentation, competitive analysis and go-to-market strategy.
- A pre-training assessment was conducted and teams were short listed by CAN.
- The short listed teams were mentored by Mr. Azhar. Participants were taken through the different steps of preparing a business plan presentation.
- A total of 40 teams including ICT R & D Funded projects and ICT-ITES firms jointly selected by PASHA and CAN were chosen to attend the ‘Global sales training’ by Ken and Laura Morse.
- Ten projects were selected at the end of the training for a visit to U.S, giving the teams opportunities for increased exposure, networking and attending OPEN and MITEF road shows in the U.S.
